Health disparities vary from community to community; addressing these require customized solutions tailored to a community’s unique challenges. At iHelp, we are responsive to, and adapt our outreach to the distinctive issues within communities, while maintaining a consistent, overarching philosophy. We focus on the SDOH of each community and apply our programs to the ensuing disparities, while also providing basic medical care. We have a robust interdisciplinary volunteer team of licensed physicians, medical and premedical students, epidemiologists, interns and retired health care professionals. We provide medical care to those in need and train individuals to employ and improve health prevention strategies within their communities.
Our projects are aimed at providing primary care to medically underserved populations in low resource communities. We work diligently to train healthcare professionals and to foster compassion and dedication to addressing healthcare disparities.
In developed countries, chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, and cancer are the leading causes of death, while in developing nations, inadequate access to basic health care and diagnostic services contribute to high mortality from preventable illnesses.
iHelp and its global partners work to build and improve the conduits between remote and underserved communities and healthcare professionals. Our primary target areas have limited access to healthcare facilities and medical professionals. We provide services and outreach that can lower preventable disease incidence and mortality by offering direct, in-field medical care.
We disseminate our community-based education initiative and promote improved dietary and health habits, increase knowledge of common and prevailing diseases etiologies and teach personal health monitoring practices. Donated medical supplies assist in our outreach initiatives and supply communities with the tools needed to treat illnesses. Our approach encourages self-sufficiency while building a cohesive environment that addresses SDOH such as healthcare access and health literacy.
Our mission is to address the healthcare needs of the homeless population in the region through a multifaceted approach involving Medical Clinics, Education, and the Redistribution of Medical Supplies.
Our experienced team delivers comprehensive healthcare services to underserved communities with the support of over 100 active volunteers, including enthusiastic student volunteers. We actively engage the community in our efforts and collaborate with local and global partners to identify and address the social determinants of health (SDOH) that impact these communities.
Currently, our Florida volunteers staff up to four health clinics each month, providing care to 30-50 patients daily, all completely free of charge.
iHelp Inc. plans to boost healthcare access for the homeless by increasing clinic frequency from 6 to 10 per month.
We aim to improve educational efforts by implementing health education programs during clinics.
iHelp Inc. seeks to streamline medical supply distribution for efficient support in Florida and beyond.
We aim to extend our Street Medicine Outreach Program's reach by launching new initiatives in specific areas.
We are proud to announce that we have secured a 5-year contract with the Florida Department of Health. This agreement provides us with liability protection for all our activities in Florida. With this partnership, we can continue to offer our services with the confidence that our commitment to the safety and well-being of the Florida community is backed by a leading institution.
