Redistribute Medical Supplies

“The surplus from our health system could be used to heal patients and help physicians in the poorest, most desperate parts of the world. The problem is gathering it together and getting it to where it’s needed.” In the United States each year, fully functional medical items valued at more than $200 million are directed to landfills or incinerators. At the same time, over 1.2 billion people in the world live on $1 a day. Hundreds of millions suffer from chronic hunger and a severe lack of medical supplies.

The Goal

Volunteers collect, inventory, and stage donated items in a storage facility, after which they are distributed to our healthcare operations locally and abroad.

At iHelp, we try to find energy efficient and sustainable methods of accomplishing our larger mission and executing our projects. We take a strong stance against creating unnecessary waste and increasing pollution with indiscrimate disposal of reusable medical equipment. Rather, we believe they should be employed in life-saving measures elsewhere. To accomplish this, we redistribute medical supplies from hospitals and facilities in the United States, to underserved areas around the world. We assist health care facilities in repurposing used or overstocked medical supplies and providing critical medical supplies to low resource communities.

What are we focused on?

Help support our El Salvador initiative to provide important medical supplies to underserved regions. Multiple factors have resulted in limited access to healthcare for the people of El Salvador. Foundation Vinculo de Amor and a team of healthcare specialists are working to increase access to healthcare in El Salvador by providing free medical services to underserved communities.

Unfortunately, limited financial resources and a low clinical inventory places severe limitations on the outreach and services that Vinculo de Amor is able to facilitate. iHelp has pledged support for their clinics, to help bolster the foundation’s efforts, as well as provide guidance and assistance aligning with our own mission.

Access to Healthcare

iHelp will be providing clinical supplies for a free medical clinic that will be in operation in El Salvador. We will be sending as much clinical supplies as we can obtain, as requested by Foundation Vinculo de Amor and its physicians. Through this partnership, we aim to establish a permanent foundation within El Salvador, where we can provide continuous medical supplies to people in need.

Medical Redistribution Efforts

iHelp has arranged to distribute donated and redistributed medical supplies that our international partners have requested.  We will help Vinculo de Amor to continue providing healthcare services in at-risk communities, and to redirect valuable items that may have ended up as waste.

Aids for Aids: Enhancing Health and Well-Being in South Florida

In our South Florida operations, we have successfully partnered with Aiding-Aids, Inc. to secure approximately $41,000 worth of toiletries and hygiene supplies. These essential supplies are distributed to various local organizations and used to create supply bags for the homeless population we serve. We have also launched street outreach clinics in Miami, where we engage directly with homeless individuals, provide hygiene kits, and assess their healthcare needs. This expansion underscores our unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of the homeless population in South Florida.

Durable Equipment

iHelp accepts a wide range of durable equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, EKG machines, defibrillators, Ultrasounds and other larger medical grade equipment. To donate such items, please speak with staff via phone or email (above) to discuss. Staff may request that you email a photo of the equipment in question prior to donating Items with broken/missing parts. Several items that are frequently requested rarely come through our doors as donations. You can help us fill this critical gap by purchasing items directly from our marketplace “wish list” list.
